Atlanta, GA – In a major move toward mainstream crypto adoption, BitPay, one of the world’s largest blockchain payment processors, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa to launch crypto payment solutions for global merchants. The collaboration aims to provide seamless, secure, and scalable crypto transaction infrastructure for businesses worldwide.
Crypto Payments at Scale
Through this partnership, merchants can now accept payments in over 100 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDC, and Solana (SOL), and instantly settle in local fiat currencies using Visa’s global network. This eliminates volatility risk and enables merchants to reach new demographics of crypto-savvy customers.
“Crypto is no longer a niche payment method — it’s an essential part of the global commerce ecosystem,” said Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay. “By partnering with Visa, we’re giving merchants the confidence and tools to embrace digital assets without sacrificing speed or compliance.”
Visa Integration Enhances Global Reach
Visa’s infrastructure will support real-time fiat settlement for merchants, enabling faster cash flow and minimizing currency conversion challenges. Businesses using BitPay can also access Visa-branded crypto debit cards, allowing them to spend crypto anywhere Visa is accepted.
“This collaboration with BitPay builds on Visa’s commitment to innovate in the digital currency space,” said Terry Angelos, SVP, Global Head of Crypto at Visa. “We’re making it easier for businesses to accept and manage crypto, just like any other payment method.”
Developer and Platform Tools
The joint initiative will also provide APIs, SDKs, and plugins for platforms, eCommerce stores, and mobile apps — making it simple for developers and SaaS companies to integrate crypto payments across industries.
